A New Year's Prospective for 2025
Looking back, the trend in credit unions buying community banks reached a new high last year — 22 banks announced plans to sell to a credit union in 2024, i.e., six more than the prior high of 16 in 2019. (See Credit Union Plays in Bank M&A)
Looking ahead, experts are bullish that even more credit union transactions will be announced in 2025. Below are 25 Community Banks Timyan would like to see in the year end 2025 list.

Truth be told, acquisition of any of these banks by another bank would be welcomed, too (or instead), but selling to a credit union is probably the best opportunity for every one of the banks listed below.
My humorous side would like to see perhaps one management team receiving, when deserved, a description lower than a scoundrel. I leave it up to your very imaginative mind as to what the best term would be.
